Hormozgan

There are some handicrafts in Hormozgan province such as: earthenware pots (Hableh), textiles sowed with laced gold or silver braids called ‘Golabatoon’, bed sheets, rugs, carpets, woven baskets, mats and handicrafts made out of sea shells.

A very old art in Hormozgan Province, Sis-baafi makes reference to weaving the fibers of date palms intending to make goods such as baskets, ground cloths – aiming to cover the floor – and even boxes for holiding hens and chickens.

One of the beauty of traveling to Hormozgan Province is to see how local people make use of anything that nature provides them with, especially parts of palms trees that may have always looked useless to us.
