Iran tourist attractions

Iran is one of the best country for its ancient history and rich culture. It is full of amazing historical attractions which come back to more than 5000 years ago. The fascinating cultural attractions in Iran have always impressed travellers.

Up to now in 2021, twenty-six sites in Iran are registered as UNESCO world heritage sites. The first three sites in Iran, Naghshe Jahan square in Esfahan, Persepolis and Tchogha Zanbil, were inscribed on the list at the 3rd Session of the World Heritage Committee in 1979.

Iran travel advice

Iran is a Muslim country with Islamic laws. You should respect local traditions, customs, laws and religions. You should be aware of your actions especially during the holy month of Ramadan. If you intend to visit religious areas, it is forbidden to eat, drink or smoke in public before sunset during the month of Ramadan before sunset during the month of Ramadan.

Traditional handicrafts of Iran

Iran's handicraft is one of the most significant artistic industries that has deep roots in the culture and history of this land. Iranian handicraft has a very wide range of diversity.

The World Handicrafts Council was established by the UNESCO with 90 countries as members and Iran is one of them. Iranian art and architecture reflect a 5000-year-old cultural tradition with a significant development over history. The most famous Iranian handicrafts include the Persian Carpet, Minakari, miniature, Khatamkari, and Ghalamzani.

Visa for traveling to Iran

Iran’s tourist visa is issued for up to 30 days and can be extend up to two additional 30-days.

To have a visa prior to arrival, a Visa Authorization Code must be applied by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affair’s e-visa website or an Iranian travel agency. The amount of the visa fee is depending on the nationality. Local Iranian travel agencies can offer better support and convenience for an additional fee.

After receiving a Visa Authorization Code, the visa may be collected at one of Iran’s embassies prior to arrival or upon arrival at one of Iran’s international airports. The majority of nationalities, except American, British and Canadian passport holders, can get their tourist visa after their arrival in the form of a Visa-On-Arrival (VOA) at the airport without a prior application. In fact, this method is suitable for last-minute travelers but it may have a risk of rejection.
